​​This event is Indianola’s kick-off to the holiday season here in town and features lots of FREE entertainment for young and old alike. Event highlights include: Lighting of the Trees on the Square, The new Festival of Trees, photos with Santa, Holiday Children’s Store, horse drawn carriage rides, your favorite cartoon characters, live musical groups, photo booth, holiday shopping, yummy food, and Lighted Parade!  A not to miss event!

Holiday Extravaganza LINE-UP AND SCHEDULE 

November 30, 2018 
5 P.M. -  8:30 P.M.
SANTA HOUSE -  Bring your camera for pictures with Santa
CHILDREN'S STORE - Let the kids pick up something special for mom and dad this holiday season (free to young children) (NEW LOCATION: Store located inside Warren County Annex Building, 111 N. Buxton (Chamber office) 
HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES - Take a stroll around the square and enjoy all of the sights and scenes. 
ELF ENTERTAINMENT STAGE: Enjoy music performed by local talent on the southwest corner of the square. 
CARTOON CHARACTERS:  Get your picture taken with Elsa, Belle, Captain America, and other fun characters. 
6:30 P.M.
8:00 P.M.
LIGHTED PARADE: End the night when the square is lit by beautifully decorated parade entries hosted by local businesses and organizations. The parade will begin at approximately 8 p.m. and will start at the Methodist Church then go east on Salem, north on Howard, west on Ashland, then back to the church!
NEW THIS YEAR: There will be no participation form required for the parade! For more information, download the link below. 

In addition to the wonderful restaurants located on the square, participants can enjoy bread pudding, peanut brittle, hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and more yummy treats!  
​THE FESTIVAL OF TREES  Coming back again this year!  Rock around the downtown square and enjoy beautifully decorated trees!  Trees will be judged by the Holiday Extravaganza Committee.  Prizes will be given for:  Most Creative, and Best Theme.

Join us on the southeast corner of the square to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Bring your camera to snag a priceless photo with them in this traditional holiday classic!  Santa's House opens at 5 p.m. on November 30!  You can also visit Santa on November 24 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Santa House located on the southeast corner of the downtown square.  ​ Bring the kids for a picture with Santa, enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride, and pick up that last minute gift!


Take pictures with your favorite ​holiday cartoon characters including the Snow Queen, Cinderella, Captain America, Spiderman, and the Grinch in our Movie Character Pavilion! The characters will be located on the north side of the square. Don't forget your camera!    


Don't miss the lighting of trees on the downtown square!  This holiday tradition marks the beginning of many of our local festivities. Lighting of the trees is at 6:30 pm on the northeast corner of the square on.


Enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride and capture the magic of the night with family and friends! 


Kids can pick out a gift for mom, dad, or that special person in their lives!  NEW LOCATION!  The Children's store has been moved to the west side of the square, 111 N. Buxton, in the Warren County Annex Building (where the Indianola Chamber of Commerce is located).  


Enjoy a live nativity scene provided by the First Assembly of God.


The Lighted Parade is Indianola's favorite holiday tradition! Watch local business and organizations parade around the square in beautifully designed displays mixing tradition with creative ideas!
