Awards Will Be Presented In the Following Categories

STEVEN G. PFEIFER VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - This award is presented to a volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the community.
Award Criteria:
  • Shown commitment to their civic organization, club and community
  • Is a mentor to others, providing inspiration and encouragement
  • Performs unselfish acts of service to others in the community
  • Exhibits a giving spirit in the community and their world
EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to a faculty member, administrator or staff person from the Indianola Community School District whose actions reflect an accomplishment on behalf of the community.
Award Criteria:
  • Nominees must have a minimum of five years of service to the Indianola Community School District.
  • The Award will be presented to a person who is dedicated to the preparation of young people for personal and intellectual growth and who is committed to the community of Indianola.
  • Any employee (faculty, staff, or administrator) of the Indianola school district is eligible.
  • Nominations may come from any person residing in the Indianola Community School District.

DISTINGUISHED CHAMBER LEADER: This award is presented to an individual who has shown significant and notable contributions and leadership to the Indianola Chamber of Commerce and/or Indianola community. View Nomination Form

Award Criteria:
  • Demonstration of leadership, vision, service and/or involvement with Indianola Chamber programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstration of leadership, vision, and/or service for the betterment of the Indianola community.
  • Contributions and/ or commitment of time towards business, professional and community leadership.
  • Demonstration of excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession and provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
  • Established reputation of character, trust and leadership for others to emulate.
EMERGING BUSINESS: This award is presented to a Chamber business who has experienced growth or enhanced profitability through innovation in business practices, superior customer service philosophy or significant improvement to their commercial property in 2019. Chamber Businesses are encouraged to self-nominate for this award.

Award Criteria:

  • Significant improvement to their commercial property in 2019. If physical improvements were made, submit a photo of the project.
Simpson College Emerging Leader:  This award is presented to a person residing, studying, or working in the Indianola community that is under the age of 40 who has shown strong involvement and outstanding leadership and has made an impact on the community.

  • Must reside, study, or work in the Indianola or surrounding community.
  • Must be 40 years of age or younger as of the nomination deadline.
  • Demonstration of leadership, vision, service and/or involvement within the Indianola community.
  • Brought innovation, creativity, high standards, and a track record of success to their professional and/or volunteer organization(s).
  • Established reputation of character, trust and leadership for others to emulate.
