Annett Nature Center

 Located near Lake Ahquabi State Park, this home to the Warren County Conservation Board features a beautiful facility which offers an educational look at Warren County’s natural resources. Its outdoor setting provides an excellent background for private meetings and events. There are educational resources, trails, and many opportunities to explore the outdoors. Your visit to this classic block in Indianola provides and eclectic array of shops, restaurants and services. Lake Ahquabi State Park

Parks

Buxton Park - a quiet spot for sitting and reflecting or strolling through botanical gardens and arboretum.

McVay Trail - a walking/bicycle trail lined with trees which once was a railroad right-of-way. The trail also includes an original prairie remnant.

Pickard Park - includes a popular fishing pond, camping site, play equipment, camping, softball complex and 18-hole disc golf course.

Memorial Park - contains play equipment, picnic areas, Memorial Aquatic Center and an outdoor amphitheater.

Moats Park - offers a park shelter, play equipment, basketball courts, volleyball area, large picnic area and ball diamond.

Wesley Woods

Wesley Woods offers an escape to the great outdoors with horse rides, wagon tours, hiking, sleigh rides, sledding, summer camps and family retreat facilities. This Christian campground includes over 334 acres of rolling hills and valleys, including 20 acres of prairie grasses. Des Moines Metro Opera

Established in 1973, The internationally-famed Des Moines Metro Opera is one of the largest regional opera companies in the country. Indianola Memorial Aquatic Center

Located in Memorial Park, 714 W. Detroit and North F. St. the aquatic center features a 7400 sq. ft barrier free, "zero depth" heated pool. A 1-meter diving board, water therapy seat, water cascade, leapin lily pads, critter hideout lagoon, bubbling beach, sandpit, and a super sidewinder slide (a 195 ft waterslide.) La Vida Loca Winery

La Vida Loca Winery is a family owned business located approximately 4 miles west of Indianola on Highway 92. Turn North on County Highway R-57 to the first gravel road, which is Jesip. Go 1/2 mile west on Jesup. Come and enjoy free sampling of wines or a private tasting party can be arranged. For more information call 515-962-2236. Summerset Winery

The Winery, north of Indianola 2 miles east of Hwy 65/69 features a new barn housing the winery, tasting room, gift shop and meeting room and party facilities. Warren County Historical Museum

This museum features a glimpse into the past in their main facility which houses theme displays such as the Barber Shop, the Funeral Home, styles from various eras to mention just a few. Also housed at the complex are several buildings representing a unique part of Warren County's past. You can visit a one-room schoolhouse, a general store, a Chapel and highlighted is the shack the housed George Washington Carver during his stay in Indianola. The museum is open for groups, by appointment and on Sundays from 1 - 4 p.m., May through September.
