In The News

Thank you, Indianola, for voting your Chamber as the Best Warren County Chamber. But, we couldn’t do our best work without all of our Investors, Sponsors, Committees and Volunteers who have worked for months to plan, create, and staff our unique and fun events.
To all the volunteers /committee members out there making these events possible, THANK YOU! We appreciate all the behind the scenes planning and prepping in order to host a successful event! If you see a volunteer this week, make sure to thank them for their time and effort! Stay safe and have fun everyone!
Our events, as well as our fine residents and vibrant business community, continue to keep Indianola on the map as a great place to live, work and play. It’s time for all of us to take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy ourselves. Here are some ideas on how to do that:
- Our Local WOW continues to include our Indianola and other Warren County wineries and breweries. We have some of the best and you can visit, sample, listen to live music, and even pick and stomp grapes. Find information about the wineries and other things to do in Warren County at http://www.wcedc.com/tourism.
- The first day of school is quickly approaching, which means the time is NOW to shop for apparel, shoes, backpacks and school supplies. Your local merchants have great selections and are ready to help you. Check the list of local businesses by category at www.indianolachamber.com.
- Back to School Bash, sponsored by the Indianola Community Youth Foundation, on August 21, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Indianola High School Stadium. Plan to meet the Indians at 7 p.m. Plan to “Meet the Indians” (fall athletes) and get ready to support our local sporting activities. Then, enjoy the movie “Field of Dreams” on the Indianola Football Field! This is a FREE community event. Food trucks and concessions available at your own cost.
- Dinner and a Movie in Indianola? Yes! Check the flicks at the Indianola Fridley Theatre, and before or after the show, enjoy dinner, drinks or treats in Indianola. Get more information on the movies at www.fridleytheatres.com/location/7425/Paramount-7-Theatres-Showtimes.
- The Log Cabin Days Festival will feature fun and educational activities during the day from 7 a.m. September 24 through 6 p.m. on September 25 on the Warren County Historical Society grounds where you can also tour the George Washington Carver Museum.
- Get outside and play golf, fish, swim, hike or camp. Have fun! Indianola has some of the best camping around!
As always, please look local for all of your professional service, entertainment and shopping needs before going anywhere else. The economic impact of every family committing to spend an additional 15 percent of their disposable income in Indianola would ensure the financial success of our local businesses, not to mention support our schools, roads, and other important infrastructure projects that make Indianola the best place to work, live and raise a family.
